Crossing the Line

They say dead men are heavier than broken hearts… I’ve worked a thousand cases in my career as a homicide detective, each ending with heartbreak. When an arson ends in murder, I find myself torn between finding a killer or protecting the accused. I know I shouldn’t fall for the prime suspect, but like a man weighed down and tossed into the river—I’m sinking fast. Taking this chance could be the end of my career, but I’ll do whatever it takes.
